Official Announcement Regarding Japan Premiere
    War of the Worlds

Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds starring Tom Cruise will be having its world premiere in Tokyo, Japan on Monday 13 June, Stewart Till, Chairman and CEO of UIP confirmed today in London.

The cancellation mistakenly reported today was simply a change of venue. UIP Japan had originally planned the world premiere at the Budokhan however then decided sometime ago to relocate to the Virgin Roppongi given its more central and convenient location.

Paul Takaki, President of UIP Japan said today that he is extremely proud to be hosting the world premiere and looks forward greatly to welcoming Steven Spielberg, Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning to Japan for this spectacular event on 13 June.

Tom Cruise will continue the promotion of War of the Worlds through Europe with premieres in Berlin, Marseille, London and Madrid. War of the Worlds opens worldwide on June 29.

  1. Kiyo Says:

Thank you for the information about Japan World Premiere. That is a big problem and every fan are worrying it very much. Acctualy, we are very nervous.
At first when it was planned at Budohkann, Japan UIP informed that 3000 people would be invited to the Premiere with Tom and others’ attendance. To get the adimission , we had to buy a magagine which had printed applicant’s ticket, glue it toa postcard and send it to the magazine company, Syuueisya. Prayong for getting a luck, we bought a lot of various magazines of this company. That cost more than 100 dollars for many fans!
Now the plan has changed and all our appications are invalid. The company said they would provide the common theater tickets for WOTW to 3000 people insteads.
Now we are requiring Japan UIP the setting of big space for fans to see the directer and the stars without any permission. And for an opening event which allows some 300 people to attend, we are requiring to use those post cards or very fair chice of new choosing.
    Thank you for reading.
By the way I can come this site but I can’t go to MEDIA, INTERACT and other field . What kind of computer trouble do I have?
When I click such an indication, the window sign flipps and the bar gets color up to the middle of it and doesnt go forward. Would you give me any suggestion? Thanks again.

Kiyo, that’s an interesting info about how Japanese fans get their tickets. I hope you’ll get to see the premiere of the WOTW.

I also had trouble get into the Media and Interact. However, to get to this forum I go to Features and click on Forum. You might want to go to Features and click on Pictures to get to Media.

  4. Kiyo Says:

Thanks, sn(??). Sorry, I can’t read.
They decided to choose 300 audience people in a new way through their official website. (Sigh)
Anyway, thank you for your advice about my computer trouble, and as you did, I could go to the Fan Forum by clicking the Tom’s small pictures of features. I am relieved.
    Thank you.
