As said Tom was interviewed by Barbara Walters for her show ‘Barbara Walters Presents The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2005′. “We are going to get married next summer or early fall,” Cruise told the newscaster. “We don’t have a date set yet.”
Tom also talked to Walters about his plans to keep an eye on the baby until it’s born. “I bought a sonogram machine,” he explained. “I am going to donate it to a hospital when we are done.” The machines, which cost upwards of $150,000, use ultrasound waves to monitor a baby’s development in the mother’s womb. He says he has been taught to use the machine and has already used it to view the tiny fetus. When asked if he knew the baby’s gender, Cruise replies that he doesn’t know yet, but even if he did, he wouldn’t reveal it.
‘Barbara Walters Presents The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2005‘ airs November 29 on ABC. People Magazine will also be printing excerpts from the interview in this week’s issue.

chicagotribune.com and toronto.fashion-monitor.com report that Nicole Kidman is happy for Tom & Katie:
Nicole Kidman has always been reluctant to comment the affection between her former husband, Tom Cruise, and his fiancee, mother-to-be Katie Holmes. But now, maybe due to the rumors of her own reported engagement, Nicole Kidman speaks out to USA Today. Speaking of her thoughts about Tom Cruise’s much-publicized romance, Nicole Kidman, 38, responds: “When you’ve been in a relationship with someone, and you move on, you wish them happiness. You hope they find everything they are looking for.” Kidman said such generosity must kick in “particularly when you have children. You need to be a grownup. You cannot be saying to your kids, ‘You have to parent me.’ You have to parent them.”
“Luckily,” she adds, “we have managed to move our lives to a whole different place. Life’s too short. You have to wish each other well, and that is what I say with absolute sincerity.”
ETOnline and Reuters:
Dad and hubby-to-be TOM CRUISE made us laugh in ‘Jerry Maguire,’ he made us cry in ‘The Last Samurai’ and he scared the heck out of us in ‘Collateral’ and Thursday night in Beverly Hills, the A-list star was recognized for his many contributions to film.
Cruise took time out of his ‘Mission Impossible III’ shooting schedule to head to the BAFTA/LA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts/Los Angeles) Cunard Britannia Awards where he was honored along with three other distinguished recipients.
Anthony Hopkins, who starred with Cruise in ‘Mission Impossible 2,’ presented the ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ actor with the coveted Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film. He declared “I don’t actually know Tom that well” and recounted that when he turned up to the Australian shoot of “Mission: Impossible 2,” Cruise embraced him and lifted him off the ground, and asked him about the nonexistent script while eating an enormous club sandwich. “I still don’t know what the film was about because all I remember is a whole lot of technical dialogue about a body in a suitcase,” Hopkins said. But he Tom as a pure Hollywood star in the mold of icons like James Cagney, Paul Newman and Gregory Peck. “Everyone today is so laid-back and cool and it’s kinda boring, but Tom is the opposite of that,” Hopkins said.
Tom played it straight as he accepted the award. He paid a lengthy tribute to Kubrick, who died in 1999 just after finishing work on “Eyes Wide Shut,” in which Cruise and then-wife Nicole Kidman starred, and said the award was “a recognition of the magnificent power that films possess to effect positive change in the world.”
Tom announced Monday that his sister Lee Anne DeVette would hand over publicity for him and his production company to veteran spokesman to the stars Paul Bloch.
Lee Anne will now exclusively oversee Tom’s soon-to-expand involvement in charitable causes, notably those linked to the Church of Scientology.
“Lee Anne has done a wonderful job on behalf of myself and Cruise-Wagner Prods. over the last few years,” Tom said in a statement received Monday by AFP. “But she has always expressed a desire to oversee and expand the day-to-day activities of my charitable endeavors,” he said, announcing that Bloch would now handle his own publicity and that of his Cruise-Wagner Productions.
“I am thrilled at this new opportunity to oversee Tom’s philanthropic endeavors,” DeVette said in the same statement. “I know how important Tom’s charitable goals are to him, and I am looking forward to assisting in raising the profile of the good works that he does on behalf of children’s health issues, mentoring, literacy and other social reforms, as well as the general betterment of the human condition,” she added.
Yeah, not much news to report lately but there are some stories!
Irish Examiner:
Tom Cruise is terrifying film-makers on the set of Mission: Impossible III, by insisting on carrying out his own death-defying stunts.
The superstar actor has refused to allow a stunt double to take on the dangerous high falls necessary for his part as secret agent Ethan Hunt in the sequel - and his willingness to push himself to the limit even scares legendary stunt coordinator Vic Armstrong, who is working on the film with him. Armstrong tells Total Film magazine: “He did a 70-foot fall for us last week. He’s amazing. He did about seven takes. Absolutely terrifies me - I can see the headlines! What a way to finish a career.”
A nice story is the one of Niki Yan, a Chinese girl who wrote a book about how Tom inspired her to come to America. After Tom heard her story he was moved and decided to invite her to the set. Read the complete story at PRWeb.com.
Yahoo reports Tom is signed up to appear on Ricky Gervais’ show Extras (don’t know the show??).
Also Tom’s on Barbara Walters’ list of the 10 most fascinating people of 2005 (STLToday). ABC will air its annual Barbara Walters special, The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2005, at 10 p.m. Nov. 29.
Little trivia: Tom and Katie share a passion for Barry Manilow’s music; they’ve been to three concerts, says ContactMusic. ContactMusic also claims Tom plans to buy Renee Zellweger’s home in Conneticut because he and Katie like to bring up their child in the country, but we’ll have to wait and see if that is or isn’t gossip.
Some quotes about Tom from Madonna and Tom’s dear friend Penelope. And uhh.. apparently Tom’s awful at golf but tips the caddies well.
That’s all!
Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of updates, the reason they’ve been so slow is because there are no news. Tom is working in Mission: Impossible III and he is not appearing on the media.
Anyway, I’ve got some Behind Scenes from Mission: Impossible III:
