Click for pictures! Movie newsWednesday, January 24th, 2007Hey everybody! There’s news to report! Alba and Cruise ‘to team up’ The Eye will be a Hollywood remake of the 2002 Hong Kong film Jian Gui where Allison, to be played by Jessica, receives an eye transplant which allows her to see into the supernatural world. Sin City star Jessica is rumoured to have signed a $4 million (£2.01 million) deal with Tom’s company which will make 2007 an even busier year for the actress. Although it’s still unknown if the first half of TomKat will be starring in the film alongside the Californian beauty, he has been known to take the lead roles in a number of his productions including the Mission Impossible series, War of the Worlds and Minority Report. (inthenews.co.uk) A bit ‘old’ news is the fact that Michael Pena has joined Lions for Lambs, the Robert Redford-directed drama that marks the first film for United Artists since Tom Cruise and C/W partner Paula Wagner signed on to revive the company for Harry Sloan’s MGM. And if it would be up to the widow of the late motor-racing star Bruce McLaren, Tom would be the best choice to play her late husband in the upcoming movie about his life. “I was talking about who could play the part this morning with my daughter, Amanda, and I thought Tom Cruise would be a good choice,” Mrs McLaren-Brickett said. “He looks very similar to Bruce – he is dark, he is the same height and has a similar build . . . but he would be too expensive” reports smh.com.au and ChinaView.cn. And for anybody who is in Malaysia this month: channel HBO presents Cruise Capers, starring “the actor with the million-dollar smile, in some of his best movies”, reads the article at nst.com.my. They start with Jerry Maguire tonight [24 Jan], Born On The Fourth Of July is next on Thursday, followed by Collateral on Jan 26. The grand finale of Cruise Capers is War Of The Worlds – this “seat-clutching” movie premieres for the first time on Asian television on Saturday. Alba and Cruise Team Up for Horror FilmWednesday, January 24th, 2007“HOLLYWOOD – Sin City star Jessica Alba has signed on to star in horror thriller The Eye for Tom Cruise’s production company. The 25-year-old has signed a $4 million deal to star in the movie, which is a remake of the Hong Kong film Jian Gui. The movie is being made for the Mission: Impossible star’s Cruise/Wagner Productions. It is not yet known whether Cruise will co-star in the film. Alba will play Allison, a woman who received an eye transplant that allows her to see into the supernatural world. Production starts next month on location in Albuquerque, New Mexico. ” Source: hollywood.com Producers Guild AwardsTuesday, January 23rd, 2007Tom was at the Producers Guild Awards this weekend, and I come with eye candy Tom Cruise to play Bruce McLaren?Monday, January 22nd, 2007***These are just rumours*** “If the late Bruce McLaren’s wife has her way, big-name Hollywood actor Tom Cruise will play the role of her deceased husband in a upcoming movie to be made about McLaren’s life. “I was talking about who could play the part this morning with my daughter, Amanda, and I thought Tom Cruise would be a good choice,” Mrs Patty McLaren-Brickett told NZPA. “He looks very similar to Bruce – he is dark, he is the same height and has a similar build – he is the only person I thought of at the moment – but he would be too expensive.” Plans to make a a big budget film about the life of New Zealand motor-racing icon Bruce McLaren were announced at the New Zealand A1GP earlier this weekend. A race driver and an engineer, McLaren died on June 2, 1970 in an accident while testing at the Goodwood circuit in England at the age of 33. He had, however, already laid the foundation for the McLaren F1 team, one of Formula One’s most dominant outfits.” Tom Cruise Hijacks Posh’s SpotlightFriday, January 19th, 2007It seems Posh Spice took a workshop in P.R. whoring from Tom Cruise. The two megastars, along with Katie Holmes, hit the only place in Hollywood where they had zero chance of flying under the paparazzi radar yesterday– the Ivy restaurant on Robertson. The threesome arrived at the exclusive eatery in a black SUV, and while Tom never actually entered the restaurant, it was obvious that he had another mission — image makeover. The wee actor was all smiles as he opened the car door, escorted the women out of the car and even walked them up to the host. Such a gentleman. Earlier in the day, Posh battled a sea of screaming photogs at a few other celebrity hotspots — Kitson and Fred Segal. Donning sunglasses and in the care of giant security guards, Mrs. Beckham battled her way into the shops, pretending to loathe the attention every step of way. Nicole Richie was spotted across the street … but nobody seemed to care. Some PicciesSunday, January 7th, 2007Hi everyone!! *Waves* I’m back on the updating the site, and I plan a big renovation of the site very soon, for which I will be accepting sugestions (e-mail, post in the comments, anyway is welcome). Enjoy the piccies! When a famed director thanked Kidman for taking Cruise’s advice!Thursday, January 4th, 2007Actress Nicole Kidman is thankful to ex-hubby Tom Cruise for pushing her to voice her concerns about a film’s script she had liked earlier, but disapproved later after it had been overhauled – much to the actress’ displeasure.Kidman feared she’d made a huge mistake when she arrived in Spain to shoot creepy film The Others after realising there had been a rewrite on the script she’d read. “I read the script and thought, ‘Great.’ Then I went and did Moulin Rouge. I went back and read the script, and there had been a rewrite on it, and I thought, ‘This isn’t the film I wanted to make,’” Contactmusic quoted her, as telling The Hollywood Reporter. The Australian actress admits the Mission Impossible star – who was then her husband – helped her voice her opinion to the movie’s director Alejandro Amenabar. Kidman says she fought with him for two weeks in an effort to persuade him to rethink his script changes, which turned her character into a child-beating mother. “I arrived in Spain and in this script, I am hitting a child – and I saw this film as being about a mother’s love for her children, not her desire to kill the children. There was conflict for about two weeks between us (Kidman and Amenabar), and we ended up with a great experience together. (Later) he said, ‘I am so glad you fought for that,’” “(Tom Cruise)He’d be like, ‘Nic, go in and voice your concerns. Trust me, it will be appreciated,’” she added. Stiller Defends Cruise After Paramount FurorWednesday, January 3rd, 2007Ben Stiller has spoken out in defense of Tom Cruise, insisting it was “wrong” for Paramount Studios to axe its deal with the superstar last year. Meet the Parents star Stiller insists Paramount boss Sumner Redstone should never have sacked Cruise after blaming his couch-jumping appearance on Oprah Winfrey’s TV show for embarrassing the studio and hampering the box office performance of Mission: Impossible III. And Stiller also believes Hollywood’s highest earners deserve their staggeringly high salaries. He says, “Studios don’t pay out of the kindness of their heart. It’s all an equation to them. That’s all. He’s got a point, doesn’t he?!
