Suri and the oscars ;-)Tuesday, February 27th, 2007Katie Holmes on Motherhood: ‘I Love It’ Holmes left 10-month old Suri at home with her sister-in-law Saturday night to attend a Giorgio Armani Prive fashion show in Beverly Hills to celebrate the man who designed her wedding dress. Soon, however, Mrs. Tom Cruise will be heading back to work. “I’m going to start a film in about a month and a half called Mad Money with Queen Latifah and Diane Keaton. I play a young girl who’s part of three women who rob the Federal Reserve.” While husband Tom was busy filming the night of the Oscar-eve fashion show, Holmes rubbed elbows with most of the nominees – including Cruise’s ex, Penelope Cruz, who posed for a photo with Holmes. (People) Suri Cruise the star of the Oscars rehearsals Cruise stunned extras and stand-ins at the rehearsals when he appeared with his 10-month-old baby Suri in his arms and casually stated, “This is Suri… She wanted to come and check this out.” (CCTV.com) Lansing Shocked By Cruise Presentation She explains, “I had seen him at an Oscar party a few days before, and he was sort of cold to me. I was a little hurt. But then he gave me the Oscar and he whispered, ‘This is an honour, I really wanted to do this, you know how much I love you, and at the party I couldn’t say anything!’ “I really love him. I’ve known Tom since he was 19 years old. I almost started to cry!” (FemaleFirst) Academy AwardsMonday, February 26th, 2007Academy AwardsMonday, February 26th, 2007Tom was at the Academy Awards, presenting a special award. Looking GORGEOUS!! I will have the video tomorrow as it’s past 2am already >.< Love you all <3 Katie Holmes & Nicole Kidman Join ForcesMonday, February 19th, 2007Not much else to reports, like Annie said already, so I’m just posting whatever comes up It appears as if Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes not only share a mutual respect for one another, but parenting advice as well. Holmes became stepmother to Kidman’s adopted children, Isabella and Conor, upon marrying Tom Cruise. The two actresses are bucking the trends of animosity and competition that typically result from this type of scenario, and amicably consult with one another on the upbringing of the children. A source from the Post Chronicle said: “Katie was having lunch with friends in Beverly Hills when Isabella rang her to talk to her about a party she was going to.” Katie, who gave birth to her daughter, Suri, 9 months age, is keen to be a good mother to Isabella, 14, and 12-year-old Conor, and hopes to earn their love and respect herself. An insider told Hello magazine: “She didn’t want the children to respect her only because Tom told them to, but rather because they wanted to.” It is quite pleasant hearing that Nicole and Katie have worked everything out so nicely. It surely will do wonders for the children as they continue to grow older! (Source: Celebrity-gossip.net) Tom Cruise Named a Presenter at 79th Academy Awards®Saturday, February 17th, 2007Hi everyone. Things have been slow lately on the TC World, and I need time off from the Internet Well, it’s been confirmed Tom will be doing a movie with Ben Stiller (see news below), and he will be presenting at the Oscars (which now is a good reason for me to watch!) “Beverly Hills, CA — Tom Cruise will be a presenter for the 79th Academy Awards, telecast producer Laura Ziskin announced today. Cruise has twice been nominated in the Actor in a Leading Role category, for “Born on the Fourth of July” in 1989 and for “Jerry Maguire” in 1996. In 1999, he was nominated for his supporting performance in “Magnolia.” Cruise will be seen next in “Lions for Lambs” and was last seen in “Mission: Impossible III.” Cruise’s other film credits include “Collateral,” “The Last Samurai,” “Minority Report,” “Vanilla Sky,” “Mission: Impossible,” “The Firm,” “A Few Good Men” and “Rain Man.” Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2006 will be presented on Sunday, February 25, 2007, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®. The Oscars® will be televised live by the ABC Television Network at 5 p.m. PST (8 p.m. EST), beginning with a half-hour red carpet arrivals segment, “The Road to the Oscars.” ” Source: AMPAS Cruise and Stiller, Hardy MenSaturday, February 17th, 2007“by Natalie Finn It only took 80 years, but teenage super-sleuths Frank and Joe Hardy have finally grown up. And apparently it was worth the wait, at least for Hollywood, because they grew into Ben Stiller and Tom Cruise. The box office golden boys have been tapped to play the now-adult brothers in the action comedy The Hardy Men, a reworking of the classic detective series The Hardy Boys, which kicked off in 1927 with The Tower Treasure. Per Variety, The Hardy Men will feature the siblings, once inseparable but now estranged, reuniting to solve one last case. No word on whether they’ll still go by Frank and Joe or if the screenplay will call for more modern monikers. Cruise and Stiller have reportedly been exchanging plot ideas with Night at the Museum director Shawn Levy, who will helm the project for 20th Century Fox. Meanwhile, the longtime pals—ever since Stiller nailed his first Cruise impression during his formative years on The Ben Stiller Show—are also contemplating teaming up for the making-of-a-movie-within-a-movie comedy Tropic Thunder, which Stiller will direct for DreamWorks. (Interestingly, Paramount would distribute the film, placing Cruise back in the industry arena with best bud Sumner Redstone.) The pair also teamed up in 2000 for the short-form spoof Mission: Improbable, in which Cruise played himself and Stiller played a stuntman subbing for the heartthrob on the set of Mission: Impossible 2. Fox is aiming to start production on The Hardy Men in 2008. Although this will be the Hardys’ first trip to the multiplex, the boys are no strangers to the small screen. Before the era of Britney, Justin and Christina, Tim Considine and Tommy Kirk portrayed the Hardy brothers on the iconic Mickey Mouse Club from 1956-57. Then, Parker Stevenson and Shaun Cassidy wielded the flashlights in the ABC primetime series The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, costarring Pamela Sue Martin as the titian-haired heroine, which ran from 1977-79. There was also a Hardy Boys Saturday-morning cartoon that premiered in 1969 and a 13-episode syndicated series that aired in Canada in 1995. But first thing’s first. Stiller has gone to bat again for the Farrelly brothers in The Seven Day Itch, due in theaters Oct. 5, while Cruise is set to star in the Robert Redford-directed Lions for Lambs, the first film in the pipeline for Cruise and production partner Paula Wagner’s revamped United Artists nameplate. Redford will also costar in the intersecting-lives drama, along with Meryl Streep and Derek Luke.” Source: E! Online. Thanks Christine! Vanity Fair NumbersTuesday, February 13th, 2007FAIRING WELL: Suri Cruise proved to be a bankable cover subject for Vanity Fair. The October issue featuring the first published photos of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ dark-haired offspring sold 713,776 newsstand copies, according to figures reported to the Audit Bureau of Circulations. The issue was the bestseller of 2006, and came in just behind Vanity Fair’s best-selling issue in the second half of last year — the September 2005 issue featuring Jennifer Aniston sold 738,929 single copies. Suri’s appeal also crossed over to the Internet: Vanityfair.com drew 4.3 million page views and 1.9 million unique visitors to its Web site the day after the photos were posted. The site usually draws about 60,000 page views and 20,000 uniques on an average day. The October issue also helped Vanity Fair post its third consecutive record-breaking half in terms of total circulation. For the second half of last year, total paid and verified circulation grew 2.6 percent, to 1,239,850, the highest ever, and its average single-copy sales remained flat at 445,635. — Thanks Frazier for the news! We all know that Tom rocks, now we have the numbers to proove that! Redstone eyes Cruise returnMonday, February 12th, 2007Personally I can really imagine what Tom would say if he heard this… or what he would say Redstone could do… yup, exactly that! Contactmusic.com reports: Viacom boss SUMNER REDSTONE has offered an olive branch to TOM CRUISE – despite dumping the actor from his Paramount-branded studios six months ago (AUG06). Cruise was sacked from the company after concerns were raised about his outspoken beliefs and sofa-jumping antics on THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW last year (06), but Redstone admits he would be willing to work with the star again in the future. He says, “We had to do the best thing for Viacom. The company was disturbed by Tom’s then behaviour, which has now changed. “I would probably work with Tom in the future but not immediately.” Super Bowl Star SightingTuesday, February 6th, 2007Video of Tom & Katie at the Super Bowl here: http://cbs4.com/video/?id=29438@wfor.dayport.com Market America Super Bowl XLI PartySunday, February 4th, 2007Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes partied late into the night in Miami on Saturday. The couple were among the star-studded crowd at the Ocean Drive magazine and MarketAmerica.com pre-Super Bowl party in South Beach, where Fergie and her Black Eyed Peas bandmate Will.i.Am kicked off the night’s concert. Cruise pal Marc Anthony headlined the event, crooning several of his hit songs – plus a cover of “Hotel California.” Anthony was also joined onstage by his wife Jennifer Lopez, who sang with her hubby. Cruise and Holmes – along with Cruise’s sister and his son Connor – rocked out in their seats on the side of the stage as Anthony and Lopez performed. “She’s quite a dancer,” one partygoer said of Holmes. “They were really into the music.” Other celebs at the concert included Scarlett Johansson, Matt Leinart, Tara Reid, Marlee Matlin, Leah Remini, Jeff Gordon, Joey Fatone and Stacy Keibler. When the show ended just after midnight, a huge fireworks display lit up the sky over the Atlantic Ocean. Afterwards, the party shifted to South Beach’s hip lounge Mokai for the private CAA sports party. Cruise and Holmes danced to a mix of rock and hip-hop, including songs like “Sweet Home Alabama” – behind a wall of security guards. Still, partygoers snapped photos of the affectionate couple, who kissed and cuddled as they danced. The pair, along with Connor, stayed at the club until nearly 2:00 a.m. (People) Click for pictures!! Katie Holmes: I Love Calling Tom ‘Husband’Saturday, February 3rd, 2007
“I have a husband and children that I adore. I have a career that I really love. When I sit back and reflect, it’s – wow!” Holmes, 28, says in the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar. “I am very grateful. Tom makes me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world and has since the day I met him. I love being with him. I love calling him husband.” For her photos in the magazine’s spring fashion issue, Holmes was styled by her close pal, guest fashion editor Victoria Beckham. “Victoria has a strong sense of style – she knew the pieces she wanted Katie to wear,” Bazaar editor Glenda Bailey tells PEOPLE. “Katie’s style is very easy, laid-back.” The same could be said of her pregnancy with her daughter Suri, now 9 months – she had no morning sickness and no cravings besides cupcakes. “I felt so proud to be having a baby and so excited,” she tells Bazaar. “And I felt closer to other women – to my sisters, to my mom. I felt empowered, like, ‘I’ve given birth. I did it! There’s nothing I can’t handle.’ ” Motherhood, too, has been easy to handle. “I’ve really enjoyed this time that I have taken to be with Suri as well as the challenges of the first couple of months: feeding and pumping, learning to decipher what each cry means – is she hungry? Is she tired? Does she need a fresh diaper? – and figuring out how to really help her.” And, although she took time off to be a mom, she also wants to make more movies. Last week, Variety reported that she had dropped out of the sequel to 2005’s Batman Begins and was in talks to star in Mad Money opposite Queen Latifah. “I have a whole new set of responsibilities,” she says. “My work is very important to me. My family is very important to me. When I go to work, it will be the right thing, worth my time and worth my time away from my family.” Sky has more details: The actress also gushed about her first date with the Mission: Impossible star: “In Los Angeles, my first motorcycle ride to the beach. It was amazing and fast.” Sky also has a photo gallery full of Tom & Katie pics, go watch!
