offer our congratulations on making such an amazing career and
giving us so many wonderful movies.

Movies, Videos, Thousands of Pictures, Multimedia and much more.
We all remember ‘Minority Report’, and Tom interfacing with a computer using gestures only. It was a vertical interface, and it was virtual.
Now Microsoft has revealed a table-top interface, no keyboard, no mouse, dubbed ‘Surface’, and supposedly, opening the doors to ’surface computing.’ Surface is incorporated into a 30″ display mounted into a table. This allows user involvement to expand beyond just one person. Surface is capable of recognizing input from not just one finger, but multiple up to dozens of inputs simultaneously.
I know it’s not Tom-news but it reminded me of this great movie, so I couldn’t resist posting it! If you want to watch a demo, click here. In the beginning the demo is kind of boring, but it quickly gets quite nice to watch. You can just let it load and later skip the first minutes, if you like. After about ten minutes you see the pic stunt which is a bit similair to what Tom did in ‘MR’. Again at 16 and about 17 minutes. It only made me want to watch ‘MR’ again!
The fabulous Des is so fast – she finds news and uploading so quickly that it’s hard to find anything she hasn’t found already! Which is great, of course! I hope you all enjoy this hard work!
But I have found a little video of Tom & Katie in New York on April 19th. Go here to watch it.
Cruise buys another £1.8m wartime fighter as he lives out the role that shot him to fame

Tom Cruise is reprising his Top Gun role in real life – and is well on his way to having his own fighter plane squadron.
He was seen inspecting his latest flyer, a Second World War Mustang P-51 which he is believed to be buying for £1.8 million.
Tom, 44, took friends along to Bob Hope airport in Burbank, California, to show off the plane and an onlooker said: “He was like a kid with a new toy.”
Tom Cruise is reprising his Top Gun role in real life – and is well on his way to having his own fighter plane squadron. Above: Tom with Kelly McGillis in the 1986 film ‘Top Gun’
He already owns a Mustang P-51, a refurbished 1943 model, which he keeps in a hangar at Bob Hope airport.
He also has a stunt plane called the Pitts Special S-2B and in the late Nineties spent £21million on a Gulfstream IV jet, which he fitted with a cinema and a deep Jacuzzi.
The onlooker said of Tom’s newest addition to his squadron: “He could not wait to check out the plane and was talking about his plans to take it out for a first spin. The other pilots are all very jealous because it’s very impressive.”
Tom has been fascinated by flying since starring in Top Gun in 1986 with Kelly McGillis, who played an aviation instructor he finds romance with.
Last year Tom had ‘Kiss Me Kate’ inscribed on the nose of his first Mustang in an affectionate gesture towards wife Katie Holmes (above)
He gained his pilot’s licence in 1994 and last year he had ‘Kiss Me Kate’ inscribed on the nose of his first Mustang in an affectionate gesture towards his 28-year-old actress wife Katie Holmes.
His latest Mustang makes him even more of a flying rival for fellow Scientologist and actor John Travolta, who owns three Gulfstream jets, a Learjet and a customised Boeing 707B, which he keeps outside his home in Florida.
The Mustang entered service in the middle years of the Second World War. It was designed in America to meet British requirements and was used by the RAF and the US Air Force.
It flew on reconnaissance missions and as a bomber escort in raids over Germany, making use of its speed and versatility.
It is one of the most recognisable planes from that era and later gave its name to the Ford Mustang coupÇ.
The second Mustang P-51 is the latest example of Tom splashing out recently. He has bought an £18 million seven-bedroom dream home for Katie and his children Isabella and Conor and new baby Suri in Beverly Hills.
It is close to their friends David and Victoria Beckham, who have snapped up an Italian-style villa for £11 million.
Tom also spent £50,000 on a custom-made Vyrus 985 motorbike which he had shipped from Rimini in Italy after seeing a model in a Californian showroom. (Source: Daily Mail)
We received scans of an interview with Tom, by Cameron Crowe, back in 1996. I know it’s old but it’s a really nice interview to read, so enjoy it at our gallery. You can view the scans here. The magazine’s name is also ‘Interview’.
Thanks to Claire, for scanning it, and Hélène, for e-mailing it!

TOM CRUISE has splashed out £50,000 on a custom-built 170mph motorbike.
He fell in love with the Vyrus 985C3 4V Italian racer after seeing it at a showroom near his Beverly Hills home.
Cruise, 44, already has a collection of more than a dozen bikes. His latest was made in Rimini on the Adriatic Coast.
Vyrus director Ascanio Rodorigo personally delivered it to Cruise, below. He said: “To get it right we had to weigh Tom and take his height and riding position — that way, when he rides it, it feels like a tailor-made suit.” (Source: The Sun)
If you found yourself doing a double take along the Potomac Saturday, that really was Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes biking the C&O Canal towpath into Georgetown, reports the Reliable Source’s Amy Argetsinger. The Hollywood twosome made a weekend trip to Potomac to visit Redskins owner Dan Snyder and wife Tanya, Snyder spokesman Karl Swanson confirmed yesterday. The two couples (with at least two bodyguards) biked down to Georgetown and hung out at the waterfront park, where they drew a crowd. TomKat graciously signed autographs and posed for photos. (Not too late to send us yours! reliablesource@washpost.com). They stopped off to dine at the Old Angler’s Inn on the way back. DanTom cemented their friendship last year when the D.C. mogul agreed to help finance Cruise’s production company. (Source: Washington Post)
Branagh set for Singer’s ‘Valkyrie’
Actor joins Cruise in WWII drama
By MICHAEL FLEMING
Branagh
Kenneth Branagh will star with Tom Cruise in “Valkyrie,” the Bryan Singer-directed WWII drama that shoots this summer for United Artists.
Branagh will play a German general who mentors Cruise’s character and hatches a plan to assassinate Hitler. Christopher McQuarrie and Nathan Alexander scripted, based on a true story.
Singer and McQuarrie, who will produce, brought the project to Cruise and Paula Wagner in March; Cruise committed to star shortly thereafter. Project marked the second film to which UA committed and also the second in which Cruise is starring (he also toplines the Robert Redford-directed “Lions for Lambs”).
Pic begins lensing July 19 in Berlin.
Branagh recently finished directing a “Sleuth” remake that stars Michael Caine and Jude Law and a version of Shakespeare’s “As You Like It” that will premiere on HBO in September. (Source: Variety)
When actress Katie Holmes got hungry while filming “Mad Money” in Shreveport, she did what a lot of people here do — headed straight for Louisiana Boardwalk and the tasty ice cream cones at Cold Stone Creamery.
Graciously, Holmes bought the entire cast and crew of the film, including Queen Latifah, Diane Keaton and Ted Danson, ice cream from the well-known creamery.
“Her assistant called and ordered 300 waffle cones,” said shift leader Shawana Bruno.
Holmes’ favorites were semifattening raspberry sorbet, berry berry, and caramel turtle.
Owner Jami Kauffman then met with Holmes’ assistants on the set of the new movie filming in downtown Shreveport to serve up her cones.
It was clear at least some of the ice cream went to Holmes’ new husband, Tom Cruise.
“I said I needed some help with the ice cream and one of the assistants told me he had to drive the boss around instead,” she said.
Kauffman asked, “Who’s the boss?”
“His wife’s in the movie,” said the assistant. “He’s only here for three days.”
Kauffman said she was treated very well on the set and even saw some tapes of the new movie in progress.
“Normally actors don’t care,” she said. “It was really cool of Katie to get the crew ice cream.” (Source: Shreveport Times)
Out and About with Maggie Martin/Shreveport Times: Tom, Katie and Suri in the park
Members of the girls softball team hanging out with Tom Cruise earlier this month at Betty Virginia Park are Emily Batte (left), Janie Hooper, Ellie Marcotte, Madeline Greenleaf, Isabelle Watkins, Katie Cordone and Peyton Brooks.
And, this is not the photo that ran in In Touch magazine, emphasized Kay Batte, mom of Emily and team coach.
“This was taken by April Greenleaf, one of our parents,” said Batte. “What’s funny is that there really wasn’t anyone else in the park because of the rain. Some of the girls do remember a lady walking up at the last minute taking a picture. I guess she … sold our picture.”
The group was, of course, shocked, but excited to be in a national magazine. However. “We don’t want Tom and Katie to think we sold them out,” wrote Batte.
And, here is the rest of the story.
The softball team was practicing in the rain when Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise and baby Suri appeared.
They borrowed a softball for Suri to play with and watched practice for about 10 minutes.
“They thanked us for the ball and wished us luck on our game,” said Batte.
The kids didn’t even know who the “famous people” were!
As they left, Batte jogged over and asked if they would sign an autograph.
The couple did better than that.
Both actors signed a softball for each child, talked to them about sports and sports they played when they were growing up.
“They squatted in the middle of my girls and put Suri between them. They talked to the girls about Suri and let them play with her,” said Batte.
The parents who witnessed it all were impressed with the way Holmes and Cruise took time with group.
“They seemed to be in no hurry and were very genuine,” said Batte.
Their actions dispelled other stories they had read about the two.
“They spent a total of about 25 minutes with us. We took one picture with Tom before we all left. He high-fived my girls, wished them luck on their game, shook my hand and told us it was nice to meet us … We were all very impressed.” (Source: Blog)
Here’s picture from that same album above:
Tom Cruise scientifically has the ideal male face — advertises health, conforms symmetrically to the “Golden Mask” -
His facial proportions conform to a male ideal
The male face advertises – “I’m healthy, I can provide resources and I’m tough – don’t antagonize me & don’t threaten me or those who I am protecting.”
Washington, May 17 : Film companies ‘Twentieth Century Fox’ and ‘New Regency’ are gearing up to remake the 1981 military drama ‘Taps’.
The screenplay for the drama, famous for launching Tom Cruise, Sean Penn and Timothy Hutton’s careers, will be written by Frank E. Flowers.
Johan Davis will produce the movie, while Robbie Brenner will be associated with it as executive producer.
“The political climate and the psyche of the country make it an exciting time to tell that story,” Variety magazine quoted Flowers as telling.
“When you are at war, kids are forced to make decisions normally reserved for adults, like fighting for your country and standing up for what you believe in,” he added.
The original drama was directed by Harold Becker. It revolves around a group of loyal cadets who seize control of their military academy, as construction crews arrive to tear it down and make room for condos.

SHE popped into Sydney out of the blue last weekend, but Nicole Kidman’s daughter Isabella Cruise flew back to Los Angeles at the weekend instead of spending Mother’s Day in Australia.
With the school term taking top priority, the 14-year-old ended her short stay on Friday – flying back to surprise dad Tom Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes with her bright blue streaks courtesy of local celebrity hair stylist Renya Xydis.
Thanks to their father’s recent acquisition of a $35 million dream home, Kidman’s children are set to upgrade their living quarters, moving into the seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom mansion along with baby sister Suri.
But arrivals of the Kidman clan are set to keep on cruising through Oz over the coming days, with the ex-couple’s son Conor due to visit his star mum on Baz Luhrmann’s Australia set in Bowen. (Source: News Limited)

Zenith Swiss watch manufacture celebrates hope and recovery with the New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project at the third annual benefit hosted by Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.
Zenith Swiss Watch Manufacture was corporate sponsor of The New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project’s third annual benefit dinner at New York’s Altman Building recently hosted by Tom Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes. Along with donations from private individuals and various organizations, the invitation only dinner raised over US$1.3 million to further the detoxification of New York’s first responders who have been suffering the effects of breathing air filled with smoke, debris, and toxic dust at Ground Zero.
“Having seen the outstanding results that this program achieves, we are very happy to lend our support to Tom Cruise and the New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project.” said Paul Ziff, President, Zenith North America. “Anyone hearing the emergency workers recount their success stories could only be moved to strongly support this very worthwhile program.”
ACTOR Tom Cruise has splashed out $42 million for a Beverly Hills home for himself, Katie Holmes and baby Suri.
The 1000sq m residence was built in 1937, but was extensively remodelled four years ago and contains seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, the Los Angeles Times reports.
The gated house also boasts a lengthy driveway, a tennis court and a pool.
Until now, the Cruises had been renting a house, but appear to have caught purchase-fever from their friends Victoria and David Beckham, who last week bought a $26.4 million residence a few minutes away.
Beckham, 32, and 33-year-old wife, the former Posh Spice of the Spice Girls, plan to move in July.
The couple’s 1223sq m house is on almost half a hectare with city and ocean views.
Beckham has signed a five-year deal with Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Galaxy and will join the club in July.
Thousands of aviation enthusiasts have made their choices in EAA’s “Greatest Aviation Movie of All Time” poll, and the winning film combines adventure, romance and lots of high-performance flying.
The champion is “Top Gun,” the 1986 blockbuster that starred Tom Cruise (an EAA member), Kelly McGillis, Tom Skerritt, Val Kilmer, Anthony Edwards and several other stars in a drama based at the U.S. Navy’s Top Gun fighter training school. The movie, which was the biggest grossing film in the U.S. that year, will be shown during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2007 at the event’s Fly-In Theater, presented by Ford Motor Company and Eclipse Aviation.
“There’s no doubt regarding the popular appeal of ‘Top Gun,’ even 20 years after its initial release,” said Tom Benenson, FLYING Magazine senior editor, who created many of the introductions for the Fly-In Theater at EAA AirVenture 2006. “Many aviation fans have this film as part of their video collection or regularly search for the movie’s airings on television. Knowing the flying sequences are based on actual U.S. military training makes the film even more appealing to pilots.”
“Top Gun” was one of 10 finalists in the online poll at www.airventure.org. It collected more than 20.5 percent of the more than 10,000 votes cast, ahead of the classic 1949 film “Twelve O’Clock High” (17.7 percent) and more recent World War II epic “Memphis Belle” from 1990 (12.2 percent).
The finalists were the 10 most-nominated films by EAA members earlier this year, who submitted more than 140 aviation movies. Others in the final poll included “Battle of Britain” (1969) with 11.8 percent; “Spirit of St. Louis” (1957) and “The Great Waldo Pepper” (1975), each with 8.6 percent; “Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines” (1965) 7.1 percent; “The Flight of the Phoenix” (1965) 5.2 percent; and “The High and the Mighty” (1954) with 4.0 percent.
“We thank the thousands of people who participated in this online poll over the past two months,” Benenson said. “We heard from many EAA members and others who are passionate about their particular favorites when it comes to aviation movies. Their voting and input has assured a long list of future feature possibilities as EAA continues to develop the Fly-In Theater with the support of Ford and Eclipse.”
The viewing date of “Top Gun” at the Fly-In Theater during EAA AirVenture 2007 will be announced when it is finalized in the coming weeks. This film will join the previously announced “Apollo 13″ on the schedule, a movie that will be shown on Friday, July 27 and introduced by actual Apollo 13 commander Jim Lovell. Additional films and presenters will be announced as they are confirmed, but all promise to be movies of special interest for aviation enthusiasts.
The outdoor theater, located adjacent to EAA’s Camp Scholler camping area, will be open each evening (weather permitting) from Sunday, July 22 through Saturday, July 28. The walk-in theater is reminiscent of the famous drive-in theaters of the past, complete with popcorn! There is no admission charge for the theater, which is open to all AirVenture guests. Each evening’s show begins at approximately 8:30 p.m., with an introduction by a celebrity presenter, followed by a classic aviation film at about 9 p.m., shown on a projection screen measuring five stories high.
EAA AIRVENTURE OSHKOSH is The World’s Greatest Aviation Celebration and EAA’s yearly membership convention. It will be held July 23-29 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wis. EAA members receive lowest prices on admission rates. For more information on EAA and its programs, call 1-800-JOIN-EAA (1-800-564-6322) or visit www.eaa.org. EAA AirVenture information is also available through the World Wide Web at www.airventure.org. (Source: Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune)

Actress Jada Pinkett Smith Denies Holmes Is Prisoner In Marriage With Tom Cruise
(AP) Jada Pinkett Smith says good friend Katie Holmes is an equal partner in her marriage with Tom Cruise.
“People think Tom and the Church of Scientology got something on Kate? They don’t,” the 35-year-old actress and wife of Will Smith tells People.com in a story posted Thursday. “Kate is running her own show. And she’s a great mother. Her kids — Connor, Bella, Suri — are dynamic children and are extremely happy. And her husband is very, very happy.”
Pinkett Smith denies reports that Holmes, 28, is a prisoner in her marriage to the 44-year-old actor, who’s been depicted by the tabloids as a controlling husband.
“It burns my soul — I see her in the house with Tom; he doesn’t have that on her! … Let me tell you: Kate ain’t no little wimpy kitty cat,” says Pinkett Smith, who also calls Holmes a “tigress.”
Photos: Tom & Katie
The Smiths — close friends of the Cruise-Holmes clan — attended the couple’s lavish wedding in Italy last year. Pinkett Smith says Holmes “did not break a sweat” amid the media frenzy.
Dark-haired, blue-eyed Suri was born last year — again, media frenzy. Cruise has two children, Isabella and Connor, from his previous marriage to Nicole Kidman.
“She’s young, she popped into motherhood very fast,” Pinkett Smith says of Holmes. “If you think about the transition she’s done, with as much grace she’s had, and on top of it with the attacks — I don’t know how she does it.”
Pinkett Smith says she’s amazed “how people want to focus on ‘She’s tied up in the basement and he throws steaks to her at night and she gets to see Suri only on Sundays.’ It’s ridiculous.”

Victoria shows off new LA pad to the Cruises hours after getting keys
By John Dingwall
VICTORIA Beckham showed off her new LA home to celebrity pals Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes hours after snapping it up.
The former Spice Girl jetted into the US on Saturday to seal the £11million deal on the Italian-style villa in Beverly Hills.
And she was delighted to show it off to Tom and Katie the following day.
Wearing a scarlet dress, matching shoes and her trademark oversized sunglasses, Victoria, 32, spent an hour showing her friends the interior, pool and grounds.
She then caught a British Airways flight back home, having spent less than 36 hours in the city.
Hollywood heavyweight Tom Cruise and action star Jason Statham are coming to Montreal.
Statham will star in Death Race 3000, which Cruise and his partner Paula Wagner will co-produce. The big-budget action flick for Universal is a remake of 1975’s Death Race 2000 starring Sylvester Stallone and David Carradine.
Filming is expected to begin this summer. It is not known how much time Cruise will spend in Montreal.
Death Race 3000 will be directed by British-born Paul W. S. Anderson, whose credits include Resident Evil and Alien vs. Predator, using a script he co-wrote with J.F. Lawton (Under Siege).
In the movie, set in 2020, dangerous convicts imprisoned at Terminal Island race each other in customized vehicles armed with weapons for a television audience. Five wins earns a prisoner his freedom.
When fan-favourite Frankenstein is killed after winning his fourth race, the warden enlists a man framed for his wife’s murder to assume Frankenstein’s identity. All he needs to do is win one race to get out of prison.
The original Death Race followed a cross-country race where drivers collected points for running down pedestrians.
Death Race 3000 is not the only big-budget movie filming in Montreal this summer. Brendan Fraser, Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh will be in the city for The Mummy 3: Curse of the Dragon.
Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway, Alan Arkin and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson may also spend a few weeks in Montreal this summer shooting scenes for the big-screen version of Get Smart. The Pink Panther 2, starring Steve Martin and Kevin Kline, is also rumoured to be looking at Montreal.
The city recently hosted Kate Beckinsale and Tom Skerritt, who were shooting scenes for Whiteout. (Canada.com)
