MTV Movie Awards 2004 Video + M:I 3 News

Thandie Opts Out of ‘M:I 3′
Thandie Newton turned down the chance to reprise her role in the upcoming Mission: Impossible 3 sequel – so she can write a new movie with her husband. The British actress lit up the big screen alongside Tom Cruise in 2000′s Mission: Impossible II – but Thandie has forgone the chance to return to the action franchise. Instead she is occupying herself writing a screenplay with husband Oliver Parker, after becoming frustrated with Hollywood. Newton – who is currently starring alongside Vin Diesel in The Chronicles Of Riddick – says, “It’s the occasional film that just reignites my love of acting. I can go through months where I just want to quit and it’s funny the films that do reignite that love.”

  Thank you so much for the extract, living in the UK means I never really get to see Tom on the telly. Wish Thandie hadn’t turned down the chance to reprise her MI2 role there was real chemistry between her and Tom. Once again many thanks

  I think Thandie wants to be an actress on her own,she wants to prove her talent with big roles. That’s normal,in MI, it’s Tom and we just can see him;
  And I think it’s far better she’s not part of it,’cause it is a “new misson” for Tom,a new story,new characters, and it has nothing to do with MI2.

  Well,i think Thandie thinks too much of herself!Look,Tom is gorgeous at what he does and he was the one who gave her a little popularity in MI:2!!!I haven’t seen her in other movies yet!And about the “interview with a vampire”…oh come on!She was completely invisible!!!Tom “gave her the chance he..never had”!!!

  Goodness! some of you people do make some mean comments! Why should you acuse Thandie of being stupid just because she has decided she doesn’t want to do MI3? I think this is going to be my last visit here. I’m a real Tom Cruise fan, but some of you people wow !!!!!
