Hi everyone. Things have been slow lately on the TC World, and I need time off from the Internet
Well, it’s been confirmed Tom will be doing a movie with Ben Stiller (see news below), and he will be presenting at the Oscars (which now is a good reason for me to watch!)
“Beverly Hills, CA — Tom Cruise will be a presenter for the 79th Academy Awards, telecast producer Laura Ziskin announced today.
Cruise has twice been nominated in the Actor in a Leading Role category, for “Born on the Fourth of July” in 1989 and for “Jerry Maguire” in 1996. In 1999, he was nominated for his supporting performance in “Magnolia.”
Cruise will be seen next in “Lions for Lambs” and was last seen in “Mission: Impossible III.” Cruise’s other film credits include “Collateral,” “The Last Samurai,” “Minority Report,” “Vanilla Sky,” “Mission: Impossible,” “The Firm,” “A Few Good Men” and “Rain Man.”
Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2006 will be presented on Sunday, February 25, 2007, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®.
The Oscars® will be televised live by the ABC Television Network at 5 p.m. PST (8 p.m. EST), beginning with a half-hour red carpet arrivals segment, “The Road to the Oscars.” ”

Thank you Annie. I also now have a reason to watch The Academy Awards, I probably would have watched anyway because I am an Oscar junkie. I am so glad he will be there. This is unusual for him to appear there. I know he was so happy for Cuba Gooding when he got the Oscar for supporting Actor in “Jerry McGuire” and yes Tom should have got best Actor for many movies including that one. Will Hollywood ever stop bab mouthing this great actor and person long enough to see how talented he is. He gives 110% to every role he has played and he will be great ing the movie with Ben Stillar and also Lions For Lambs. I can’t wait to see him on the Big Screen again. It seems like forever since Mission Impossible III which contrary to Hollyweird’s opinion was a great movie and he was awesome as always. Thanks for the info on Tom Terriffic!!!!!

Tom was not announced as a presenter at the 2000 Oscars, just after the announcement of his separation from Nicole and his name did not appear on the program which was distributed to the guests (probably at his request). But I vividly remember the awe and shock in the audience when he walked on stage, his up- to- then longish hair( Vanilla Sky) hair cut very short (another surprise!) as he was preparing to shoot Minority Report, and…no tie…remember? It was the first time a presenter did not wear a traditional attire – tux and necktie. Tom was wearing a beautiful blue suit and a midnight front-pleated shirt open at the neck, and he was just dripping gorgeousness!

It has been a long time ago when I remember Tom was at the Academy Awards. I’ll watch the program and don’t care who wins, because Tom will be a winner for me by coming to the Oscar night.
