Variety reports more box office successes for TLS:
“The Last Samurai” is fast closing in on $300 million abroad, reinforcing topliner Tom Cruise (news)’s reputation of consistently being able to parlay his films to much bigger results internationally than at home.
“The Last Samurai” flew to $295.3 million after banking $12.8 million from roughly 4,700 screens in 55 territories. The warrior saga minted $2 million in its 11th stanza in Japan, which means it has raked in more in that territory — $111.5 million — than domestically. Europe has contributed $134.1 million.
That continues the pattern of Cruise’s “Minority Report,” which grossed $226 million internationally and $132 million at home.

4 Comments to “$300 million for TLS!”

  • It is a geat honour and pride to see how TSL has CRUISED its way to a total $404.8 worldwide . On the order hand I have to express my sadness and disappiontment the way Warner Brother(WB) has been axeing so many theaters weekly. Last weekend TLS was down to just 267 theaters earning $542,948 with an impressive average of $2,033 theater. TLS still has the capacity of making more money domestically but WB is SLOWLY CRUSHING it(TLS) TO ITS DEATH. WB gave Mystic River the opportunity of a COME BACK lets hope it will DO THE SAME for TLS as well by increasing its Theater counts

  • I’m not complaining about your work on this site, which I think is the best Tom Cruise site ever, but I thing some of the informations are wrong… At the movie times site, TLS has grossed over $ 350 million worldwide. At least that’s what I saw on the site, if you want to take a look there the address is http://www.themovietimes.com
