Collateral Reviews

  • Dave Poland gives his take on Collateral

Collateral is, by far, the darkest big summer release in a long time. But the sheer transformative genius of Michael Mann makes it the summer’s unavoidable viewing experience for cinema lovers, along with Fahrenheit 9/11 which is also a master’s class in technique, although Mann’s work is infinitely more honest than Moore’s……

….Tom Cruise gives a really strong performance here, much in the mode of his very underrated turn in Interview With The Vampire, but this vampire is much less subject to flights of fancy.

Hello. I am a junior in college. Being that I am a future childhood educator, I was on this site trying to get some information regarding the READ program that I know Mr. Cruise is in charge of. I am very interested in finding out information that will be able to help my kids in the classroom. Thanks so much!

Hehe! It’s said “Romanian”, but it’s OK! Actually I do plan to go to Paris this summer, but I’m pretty sure it will not be when he comes for the “Collateral” premiere (pas possible!)
I’d love to continue chatting with you! You’d be the first real Tom fan I’d be talking to. So, can
      you e-mail me?

I could see how people would get frustrated in posting on this site.

Twice now I’ve posted ON TOPIC and got deleted although I’m not a troll and I only post based on the thread header.

While I don’t approve of the general nastiness of the naysayers’ posts, I have to say it’s very frustrating to follow the rules, do the right thing, and still get deleted.

It makes visiting the site useless.

This was the first time I deleted comments without reading, if someone deleted something before you should have told me, cause it was probably done a mistake. I’m sorry about it.

i just saw the “collateral” movie. I’m not a Tom Cruise fan, however, this is the best role I’ve seen him play. i never thought Vruise was a true actor. In all his previous films, I never saw the “character”. I always saw Tom Cruise. It appeared the roles were written forhim to just be himself. His mannerism, persona, was the only thing you saw. He couldn’t get into character. This is the first time. I enjoyed the film. I’m glad he finally was able to develop a character because Jaime Foxx played the heck out of his role. he truly stole the show.
