In the new “Five Friends” video, director Steven Spielberg tries to get his pals Harrison Ford, Julia Roberts, Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz, Snoop Dogg, Ben Stiller, Zach Braff, Neil Patrick Harris, Scarlett Johansson and Tobey Maguire to do the follow-up “Don’t Vote” PSA.
Only they don’t get the high concept. Don’t vote?
“I respect you, you know, you got awards and stuff, but this is ridiculous,” Will Smith tells Spielberg, who asks the actors to act more “sarcastic.”
“What if people don’t understand that it’s being sarcastic?” Shia LaBeouf asks.
“Oh, sarcasm. I can do sarcasm,” says Cruise.
“I can do anything. I was in … a boy band,” Justin Timberlake adds.
Finally, Harrison refuses to say it, explaining that one vote does matter because only 537 people decided the 2000 election.
“That’s it? There’s more Baldwin brothers than that,” an incredulous Ryan Reynolds says.
Finally, Spielberg tears up the script.
