Personally I can really imagine what Tom would say if he heard this… or what he would say Redstone could do… yup, exactly that! ;-) with what he said recently!

Contactmusic.com reports:

Viacom boss SUMNER REDSTONE has offered an olive branch to TOM CRUISE – despite dumping the actor from his Paramount-branded studios six months ago (AUG06). Cruise was sacked from the company after concerns were raised about his outspoken beliefs and sofa-jumping antics on THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW last year (06), but Redstone admits he would be willing to work with the star again in the future. He says, “We had to do the best thing for Viacom. The company was disturbed by Tom’s then behaviour, which has now changed. “I would probably work with Tom in the future but not immediately.”

  • Could it be that Redstone realizes that Brad Pitt production company “Plan B” which has replaced Cruise/Wagner on Paramount lot will never have the same level of financial success? Pitt is no Cruise….his last flick “Babel” has made a puny $32 millions domestic BO in 16 weeks!…MI-3 made over $47 millions the opening week-end….You do the math….

  • Tom Cruise has too much class to say what I think he should say to that Bonehead Redstone. He probably has now realized his biggest money maker is gone. I sure hope Tom takes that olive branch and tells Sumner Redstone where he can put it!!!!! Tom is too good for Viacom and if he does dos some work for them I would ask for mega bucks. He is worth it!!!!! I knew this was going to happen. I hope Sumner Redstone gets axed by Paramount big shots!!!!!!!!

  • Haha. Someone’s crawling back. I’m sure Tom will still be sucessful without him

  • Tom is going to star in a film with Streep and Redford that has gotten major buzz , of course that old coot Redstone is going to say he might want to work with him again !
Redstone doesn’t give a squat how Tom behaves just as long as he makes money off of him.
Tom has bounced back and isn’t as over as Redstone thought . Now Redstone is playing nice in the hopes that if “Lions for Lambs ” and Tom future projects are major hits Tom will work at Paramount again.
When Redstone said “I would probably work with Tom in the future but not immediately.” what he ment was : if he still makes money yeah I want to work with him..but not until I’m sure he is back into the publics good graces and his public perseption keeps improving.
It sure didn’t take long for that money hungary old fart to change his tune .

  • Sumner Redstone is eating crow. He realizes what a huge mistake he made by making the split so personal, and not being a gentleman about itTom Cruise does not need Paramount to be successful and I hope more of his comrads in the industry keep speaking out on his behalf. There is only one Tom Cruise and nobody can ever take his place. Nobody can ever create the same magic as TOM

  • I guess Redstone is realizing that he now
needs a “Plan C.” Sounds like a lot of babel
    to me.

  • WE ALL SAİD BEFORE. REDSTONE YOU ARE REALLY HAVE A BAD PERSONALİTY İF YOU HAVE ONE. AND NOW BAD DESİCİONS AS YOU SEE. TOM İS MUCH MORE GOOD FOR YOU.YOUR FİRM DOESN’T EVEN DESERVE OUR LOVELY TOM

  • Someone finally realized the huge difference between Tom and Brad? Redstone and his company can go to hell as far as we are concerned because nobody messes with Tom Cruise.

  • Sure he says this now because Tom is actually already working with Paramount and gonna make a lot of money with “the Eye” – which an Paramount group is co-financing. Plus his next project will be set at Paramount too. “not immediately” has just turned into “right now”. Of course he makes nice now to save facem because he´s never fired him to begin with. He lost him, because he could/would not afford him anymore. Now he sees that Brad isn´t quite worth the whole praise.

Stick it elsewhere, Sumner!! Though, he can´t get axed by Paramount, he holds 70% of their shares. Still, big boss kissing Toms butt now? LOL, I LOVE it!!

  • Tl are you sure Tom holds 70% of their share. Never heard that. Where did you get this information?

  • It is Redstone who is the major stockholder in Paramount/Viacom, not Tom!

  • I never said it was Tom who holds 70%, I said it was Redstone. It is actually quite known that Redstone inherited the company from his daddy (and ruined it!)
