Katie Holmes Is In Shreveport For Her New Film “Mad Money”

(CBS) NEW YORK Tom Cruise is heading to Shreveport, La., where his wife, Katie Holmes, is shooting a new film, Cruise’s rep Paul Bloch confirmed to The ShowBuzz on Tuesday.

Katie Holmes visited a local Target store in Shreveport on Friday, the Shreveport Times newspaper reported over the weekend. The actress is reportedly in town along with stars Diane Keaton and Ted Danson shooting the comedy, “Mad Money.”

It seems Holmes is mixing with the locals just fine. “I met some really great people, and it was nice,” Holmes said of being at the department store. “They did recognize me, and it was a pleasure meeting them. We had nice chats about kids, and it was lovely.”

Holmes told the newspaper she’s “pumped” for the film, which was slated to begin shooting on Monday.

Holmes described her character, Jackie, as a free spirit.

“She’s funny, she’s smart and just a little bit misunderstood,” Holmes said. “She’s involved in this crime, but she’s sort of delighted to just be a part of something and have girlfriends for the first time. She’s a type of person who creates a happier environment than she’s actually in. … I like that about her. She’s a free spirit.”

“I loved it from the second I read it,” Holmes told the Shreveport Times. “I love interesting female characters, and this is full of them.” (Source: CBS Broadcasting Inc)
