Tom & Katie on top form in Las Vegas

Couple-of-the-moment Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes enjoyed an enthusiastic reception when they appeared in glitzy Las Vegas at an electronics industry event that drew a roll call of major entertainment names.

Hand-in-hand and flashing their trademark big smiles/big shades, the Mission Impossible star and his pregnant fiancée joined an eclectic line-up of performers including Justin Timberlake, Robert Redford, Alicia Keys, Nicole Richie and Morgan Freeman.

Gadget fan Tom and his fellow actors took full advantage of their time at the International Consumer Electronics fair, checking out the huge range of digital devices and technological goodies on display at the event, which was presided over by Bill Gates.

Although perhaps not the kind of environment where we’re used to seeing top entertainers, new technology such as 3G services on mobile phones offers unparalleled opportunities for distributing music and movies in fresh, portable formats – hence the participation of savvy stars such as Top Gun Tom.
