Charlize stars with Tom Cruise

South African born actress Charlize Theron will star with Tom Cruise in The Tourist. Directed by Bharat Nalluri, the film is a remake of the French thriller film Anthony Zimmer.

Theron plays an Interpol agent who uses an American tourist in an attempt to flush out an elusive criminal who was once her lover.

The film will start shooting in March.

Theron rose to fame in the late 1990s following her roles in 2 Days in the Valley, Mighty Joe Young, The Devil’s Advocate and The Cider House Rules.

She received critical acclaim for her portrayal of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in the film Monster, for which she won an Academy Award for best actress.
She was also nominated for an Oscar for her performance in the film North Country.

Last year, Theron was named Esquire magazine’s Sexiest Woman Alive.
She has also appeared in Hancock, The Burning Plain, The Road, Battle In Seattle, In the Valley of Elah, Head in the Clouds, Life and Death of Peter Sellers, The Italian Job, Trapped and Curse of the Jade Scorpion among others.
