comment did you know that last year’s Saturn Award for Best Actor (the Saturns are for so-called “genre”, i.e. sci-fi and horror movies alone) was won by none other than … Tom Cruise, for Vanilla Sky ?!? They correctly valued it like a sci-fi movie, not a “romantic thriller”.

comment – Just to add: besides sci-fi and horror, the Saturn awards also regard adventure movies and fantasy ones, such as the LOTR films for example.
Anyway, this back-to-back nomination (let’s hope it will be a back-to-back win) in the sci-fi genre is a great Tom Cruise achievement in a field that, before Vanilla Sky, was a totally unexplored one fo him!
